According to statistics released on July 29 by Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment, China's direct investment in Vietnam was US$ 149 million in January to July 2009, out of which US$ 122 million are contract value for 17 newly signed projects and US$ 26.5 million are investment increment for 4 projects.
According to the statistics by the above said Ministry, China had 73 direct investment projects in Vietnam in 2008 with a contract amount of US$ 330 million. By July 20, 2009, China had a total of 651 investment projects in Vietnam, and the contract amount was US$ 2.678 billion, with a registered capital of US$ 1.26 billion.
